 IASLIC: Indian Association of Special Libraries and Information

IASLIC was founded In 1955, it is registered Society With Headquarters Located in Kolkata.

  • It Was formed with the Aim of having an association in India similar to the Association for Information Management [ASLIB] in the UK and the Special Libraries Association [SLA] in the USA.
  • IASLIC Was established on 3rd Sept. 1955. Dr. S.L. Hora was Elected the first President and Mr. J. Saha, The first Honorary General Secretary of IASLIC.
  • At a Largely attended meeting of Librarians Held at Calcutta on 25th June 1955 Under the Chairmanship of Dr. S.L. Hora,The Idea of Starting an all India Association information Centre.
  • Current President-Prof. Narendra Lahkar (2022-23)
  • Current General Secretary-Shri Abhijit Kumar (2022-23)

IASLIC is Holding Seminars and conferences in Alternative Years.
